ToTheWeb Success Story: University Website Gets Traffic Boost with Homepage Redesign
Increasing Traffic Through Good Design
Golden Gate wanted to increase traffic to their website. Two major challenges existed:
- GGU’s homepage was a single graphic image and contained no useful content for site visitors.
- No meaningful Meta data or HTML text was present on the homepage. The search engines were not indexing the website for the search terms students might use to find the site.
After researching target audiences, reviewing proposed site content and assessing existing search engine rankings, ToTheWeb:
- Designed a special “landing page” to include useful, relevant HTML text content and submitted it to the search engines.
The customized landing page became one of the top 10 entry points across all GGU campus websites.
