Before the event opened, the 16 panels of exhibit material had to be mounted by a crew of volunteers. The event was conceived and produced by the Eichler 'Historic Quest' committee, the group working to place Eichler homes on the National Register of Historic Places. The event was held in the auditorium of the Cubberly Center in Palo Alto, close to the historic Eichler subdivision of Greenmeadow.
